Hehe jus ended tuition! Haha. Nt bad. Tho i spent more than half of e time talkin to him. Bt at least i kept him awake n attentive! Haha. Tt's why he absorbed wat i said:D

Was thinkin of how to revamp tuition coz last wk started a new sec 2 academic student! He seems nt bad bt also started yawnin towards e back! So decided i can't teach for 1.5h straight! Haha, yep.

N coz so many things for him to rmb. Referrin to old student. In e end he can't rmb anythin. So went by a jus rmb this method! Haha. Hopefully it will help him rmb better. N actually he only needs to rmb tt! Haha. For direct proportion:
1) form equation
2) find k
3) sub k

Hahha. Yep! N he actually goes thru e book where i wrote notes down for him. So it is kinda 安慰!:P hehe.

Yep. Mus plan for tmr's lesson! Haha. Happy!:)

Bt of coz cannot every wk crap so much! Later his parents will b thinkin why they spend so much to hire me to sit there to crap! Haha. Maybr 1h of learnin tgt w e crappin to keep him awake. Den e half an hr of 验收 - do a test i set or sth!:) haha.

Yep!:) mus plan for tmr's tuition wen i m hm later! Realised i really a lot of tuition suddenly. Fri nite, sat got 2 n sun got another! Haha. Wah!! Haha. Bt at least 2 tuitions r pretty fun n enjoyable! Jus haf to make sure these 2 sec 2 tuitions turn up well generally! N can only achieve it by preparation b4 lessons! Haha. Yep! Go kheng!:)

Anw today went for a case conference. As in e organisation got a social worker to share one of e cases done n all of us will feedback n ask questions. Actually this is usually done only among e social workers within an org bt my lecturer gave us e chance to sit in n share!

Yep. E biggest takeaway is tt we really haf to noe our theories well n b flexible wen we haf to use more than 1/ change along e way!

Yep. Haf been thinkin bout this for more than once. Tt i need to study. Nt for grades bt coz i really need e stuff i m studyin in future. In e past i can jus anyhow whack bio n geog coz they haf no real life value for me n i dun need them for l1r5(ironically i used both in e end!:P) n no matter hw much i noe i haf to sit for e exam. N after e exam.. Jus throw everythin away! Bt nw it's nt e case. After e exams if i still dunno. I better go study coz i need them!

Yep. Hopefully i get this fact drilled into my brain n start muggin! Tt's e most impt diff btw uni n past education experiences ba!

Yep. N another thing was bout e scrutiny u r undergoin wen u present e case to ur colleagues. They usually do it at e start of e case so tt they gather opinions on which approach to take. If i m nt wrong, it's only for cases which they e unsure of or stuck at.

Yep. Bt today's case was near closure n seems like there was a huge wave of disapproval at e theory chosen to help e family. Coz of confidentiality issues, i can't share e case. Bt seems like my lecturer had a v diff opinion on wat shld haf been e theory used.

I mean she might haf sounded offensive coz she felt sth or coz tt is jus e way she speaks. N e thing is in e end she praised e worker still for e right intervention at tt pt of time.

Bt this is where my worry comes in. If i were to decide on e grade i suspect my lecturer's gng to give for e intervention. Most prob 60? Or maybe 70 in fact! Bt she sounded as if e worker has done everythin wrong wen she gave comments.

N this is e scary part. I m sure she gave all her opinions w e aim of helpin e worker grow. Bt it sounded as if she was reprimandin her. M i up to tt kind of scrutiny?

Imagine a case where i give my best n tink i did well. N in such a session. Everythin is wrong! Yes it's bout perceptives n hw u see it. bt it might nt b really a completely subjective thing. By tt i mean maybe ur intervention wasn't really e best method n u haf nt maximised e family's/client's potential n perhaps helped them gained stuff bt lost stuff tt they could haf nt lost.

I mean sometimes perspective might only b an excuse. Even if nt like in this social worker's case. Dun tink she was tryin to use tt to smoke/cover up or anythin. E entire thing might nt b completely subjective. Perhaps e intervention was really wrong. Yep.

N wen we were told to give a concludin statement/thot. I said tt i've learnt a lot n saw for myself hw meaningful n useful such conferences are for reflectin, to understand wat r e kinds of influences tt were workin on u wen u work on e case. N tt sometimes things look as if they r 'wrong' only coz of hindsight. Wen we decide on e mode of intervention, we might nt haf this this info or tt tt info. N it's only in e process tt we realise them.

I said this coz i wanted to 'comfort' e worker la. Bt after tt i realised mode of intervention can b changed along e way. It need nt b fixed thru-out. N wen u get new info. No excuses. U shld twig to these info accordingly.

Yep. I suppose e worker is jus inexperienced? Whether or nt. All i m sure of is tt she definitely benefited frm this session! N i believe she has at least gotten e msg of bein flexible! I hope!;) haha. Jus felt for her coz my lecturer's comments seem to b comin down quite hard. Bt i guess she wasn't tryin to b mean. Jus her way of speakin n e strong emotions she was experiencin wen she heard bout e case n her strong desire to help e social worker n us grow ba!:)

Haha bt totally glad to haf her coz could see tt she was really critically thinkin n evaluating e situation n e intervention! Hopefully i will b able to rise up to tt kind of standards! Coz if i can't evaluate, i will nv improve as a worker or b able to evaluate my work!

Yep!:) haha.

Kheng:)
